UFC 316 had a lot to live up to, and it put on a night to remember for fans and athletes alike. The event included plenty of sparkly finishes paired with two too many incredibly tough matchups. In the end, four fighters walked away with a $50,000 performance bonus.
The Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, hosted a dynamic list of celebrity guests, including the President of the United States, Donald Trump. The event attracted an attendance of 17,343 fans and generated an impressive gate of $6,501,177, surpassing the revenue of the previous UFC pay-per-view event held in Montreal, Canada.

While there was no "Fight of the Night" bonus, four fighters on the UFC 316 card received a "Performance of the Night" bonus. Merab Dvalishvili, Kayla Harrison, Kevin Holland, and Joo Sang Yoo all walked away with $50,000 in bonus money.

In the main event, Dvalishvili solidified his reign by defending his bantamweight title against Sean O'Malley. After a decision victory in their previous fight at UFC 306, this time, 'The Machine' achieved a third-round submission win.
In the co-main event, Harrison claimed the title of women's UFC bantamweight champion with a decisive second-round submission victory over Julianna Pena. Notably, this was only her third fight in the leading MMA promotion.
In the main card opener fight, Holland clinched another second-round submission victory on the UFC 316 card by defeating Vicente Luque with an anaconda choke.
Elsewhere in one of the prelims fights, Yoo secured a 28-second knockout victory in his UFC debut fight. The South Korean fighter defeated Jeka Saragih in the process.
In the other two bouts on the card, Mario Bautista defeated UFC debutant and Bellator champion Patchy Mix via unanimous decision, and in the middleweight bout, Joe Pyfer got a significant victory for his career over Kelvin Gastelum.
UFC 316 also saw two-time women's UFC bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes confirm her return to the promotion. After the co-main bout, Harrison invited Nunes into the octagon, and both fighters said they would like a fight with each other next.
