Bruce Buffer made Trevor Peek's UFC debut even more special as he gifted the lightweight fighter with the intro card following his first-round knockout victory. The Dana White Contender Series graduate, who joined the promotion in 2022, expressed his gratitude in his post-fight press conference.

Speaking to the media following UFC Fight Night 220, the unranked lightweight stated:

"He blessed me with that. I watched the fights, but I guess I missed all the introductions of the fighters and I didn't even know Bruce [Buffer] was here tonight. I seen him in the cage and I was like, 'Well, here we are man.' I even turned around to all my coaches smiling, I was like, 'Dude, it's Bruce Buffer.'"

Peek continued:

"I've been waiting on him to go 'Trevor Peek' for a long time so it was definitely a dream come true. I guess I fanboyed over him a little bit, but I just checked it off my list of dreams. It was real cool meeting Mr. Buffer."

Buffer has only given his intro card on one other occasion, although it's unclear who he might have given it to previously. The longtime UFC octagon announcer revealed that he saw something special in Peek, noting that the lightweight is a role model.

Trevor Peek won his UFC debut by knocking out Erick Gonzalez with just one second left in the very first round.

Bruce Buffer will be part of the UFC 285 broadcast team

Jon Jones is set to make his highly-anticipated return to the octagon at UFC 285 after a three-year hiatus from mixed martial arts. The official broadcast team for the event has been announced, featuring several names that 'Bones' defeated during his longtime reign as light heavyweight champion.

Rashad Evans and Anthony Smith, both of whom Jones defended his title against, will serve as the desk analysts. Megan Olivi will serve as the roving reporter, while Bruce Buffer will be the octagon announcer as usual.

The cageside commentators will be Jon Anik, Joe Rogan, and Daniel Cormier. Anik will be the play-by-play announcer, while Rogan and Cormier will be the color commentators.

It will be Rogan's first time in the broadcast booth in 2023, as the longtime UFC commentator only works pay-per-views that are set in the United States. Both UFC 283 and UFC 284 took place overseas, in Brazil and Australia, respectively, leading to Rogan's absence. Despite his longtime feud with Cormier, Jones shared that he has no issues with the UFC Hall of Famer calling the fight.
