MMA News: UFC Women's Bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes wants Ronda Rousey!

The Nunes Rules

Ever since the then-undefeated Ronda Rousey lost her UFC title, three new champions have been crowned, the last one being Amanda Nunes. The Brazilian had won the Women’s Bantamweight title when she finished Miesha Tate at the grandest MMA event of all time, UFC 200. Now Nunes wants to pick her opponent for her first title defence.

She wants none other than Ronda Rousey!

The Brazilian spoke to a Brazilian website Combate-

"I don’t know anything yet, I’m waiting for the call. It’s highly likely, right? Those girls are crazy. Juliana Pena says I’m running from her, Valentina Shevchenko also said I’m running from her, and now she’s saying Juliana Pena is running from her, too. I don’t like to play games.”

She further spoke, naming her opponent for her next fight:

"If they ask me who I want to fight, I’m going to say I want to fight Ronda. I’m not running from anyone, I’m the champion and I can choose who I’m going to fight. I will choose what’s best for me and Ronda would be ‘the’ main fight, that’s why it has to be against her, it has to be with Ronda."

The Judo Olympic medalist Rousey had lost her title at UFC 193 when she got dismantled by then former boxing world champion Holly Holm. Ever since her loss Ronda has been away from the sport.

Rumours have been surfacing on the internet that she will make her return before the end of this calendar year, most probably at UFC 207. Dana White previously had stated that Rousey will get an immediate title fight upon her return to the cage no matter who the champion was.

But now the times have changed and Ronda has more than one challenger, the other being Cris Cyborg. But now as Nunes is the current champion, according to her it's more likely of Rousey to face her at UFC 207 in the T-Mobile arena in Las Vegas.
