For Johan Estupinan, going against the top fighters in the stacked flyweight Muay Thai division would clearly boost his name as a true sensational striker.
The young Colombian upstart knocked Moroccan fighter Zakaria El Jamari out in the second round after showing an impressive performance at ONE Fight Night 25: Nicolas vs. Eersel II, and he can't wait to climb onto the top ranks.
Despite his incredible 26-0 career record, with four winning streak and three finishes in ONE Championship, Estupinan still have a long way to go before he can clash with the divisional kingpin Rodtang Jitmuangnon.
For that reason, 'Panda Kick' is ready to face anyone who gets in his way and prove his worth as one of the best talents in the promotion.
Estupinan made this intention known during the post-fight interviews after his brilliant performance:
"To be honest, I don't know, because I'm the best. I proved I'm the best. I'm number one. So I don't know who to face. I don't know any names, but if the company wants me to face this or that fighter, I'm ready."
He added:
"Whoever they say, I will fight."
Based on that fact, we will definitely see more of Johan Estupinan in the near future.
Johan Estupinan looks back at the moment he decided to chase Zakaria El Jamari for the knockout
Colombian phenom Johan Estupinan had to dig deep before he scored a knockout over Zakaria El Jamari at ONE Fight Night 25 earlier this month, and he shared the reason on why he decided to chase the finish.
Estupinan got tagged by Jamari's hard overhand right within the first minute of their flyweight Muay Thai clash, and that was enough to wake him up into rage.
He told ONE commentator Mitch Chilson what went through his mind after that fateful punch in the post-fight interview:
"No, no, no, he woke me up. Actually, I got angry when he hit me. I was like, 'No, no one can touch you. Wake up! Hit him!'"
