WATCH: Denis Puric unleashes pure firepower in brutal knockout of Nguyen Tran Duy Nhat in Bangkok

Bosnian-Canadian striker Denis Puric has steadied the ship in his ONE Championship journey following a rough start. He has won two his last three matches including a knockout victory over Vietnamese Nguyen Tran Duy Nhat in December last year.

The two seasoned fighters met at ONE Fight Night 17 on Dec. 9, 2023 in Bangkok, Thailand, in a catchweight (139.75 lbs) Muay Thai battle. 'The Bosnian Menace' was looking for bounce-back win after being TKO'd in his previous match.

Puric delivered on his push, unleashing powerful kicks and punches right the onset that effectively stymied the ability of Nhat to fully soar in the contest. Midway into the second round, 'No. 1' attempted a high kick only to open himself up for a well-timed counter punch to the face that instantly dropped him to the canvas and unable to conitnue after.

ONE Championship recently uploaded the full fight on its official YouTube platform for fans to take cue from as Denis Puric returns to action this week.

Puric followed up on the win with another impressive victory by decision over British striker Jacob Smith back in April. He, however, lost in his last fight in June to Thai superstar Rodtang Jitmuangnon.

The Team CSK standout is set to see action on Dec. 6 at ONE Fight Night 26: Lee vs. Rasulov against Algerian sniper Elias Mahmoudi in a featured flyweight Muay Thai clash. It is part of the event happening at the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok and airing live and for free in U.S. primetime to North American fans with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription.

Denis Puric sees a tough battle against Elias Mahmoudi

Denis Puric is gunning for an early finish against Elias Mahmoudi in their showdown at ONE Fight Night 26 on Dec. 6 but admits it is going to be easier said than done considering what his opponent will be bringing come fight night.

The 39-year-old fighter shared this in an interview with ONE Championship in line with his return to action, highlighting how Mahmoudi is a type of opponent who would not go down easily.

Puric said:

"I wanna end it early every time. It just depends on how durable he is and how long he or me [can last in there]. I don't think it's gonna go the distance, but it might. He's a tough guy."

Both contenders in the flyweight Muay Thai division, the match between Denis Puric and Mahmoudi is a virtual title eliminator for the currently vacant flyweight championship belt.
