A few days after it was announced that Dana White's Power Slap Fighting League would make its debut on TBS Network on January 18, combat sports fans were reminded of just how brutal the sport can be as a video from the RXF Slap Fighting Championship went viral on social media.

Slap fighting involves two competitors on either side of a podium taking turns to slap each other on the cheek. While it seems quite rudimentary, the results can be brutal.

A viral video from RXF's slap-fighting event shows Alexandru Gorczyca slapping Sorin Comsa hard in the face, which had already taken enough damage by then. In the video tweeted out by @Matysek88, the left side of Comsa's face is visibly swollen with streaks of blood on it.

However, that didn't stop the current champion from continuing. After absorbing a hard shot, he can be seen complaining to the referee about a possible foul on his opponent's part.

"This guy's face swelled like crazy and he's bleeding but he's still going, can't be too healthy"

Watch the video below:

However, it seems Sorin Comsa's suffering was not in vain. The badly hurt slap-fighter emerged as the winner and left Las Vegas with the RXF champion's belt.
