Former ONE women's strawweight Muay Thai world title challenger Jackie Buntan picked up her third successive win in ONE Championship when she scored a unanimous decision victory against Daniela Lopez in September 2021 at ONE: Empower. One of her best moments during that bout was reposted by the world's largest martial arts organization on their Instagram account recently.
The caption to the post read:
"On point 🎯💯 What approach should Jackie Buntan take to win the inaugural ONE Women's Strawweight Kickboxing World Title against Anissa Meksen at ONE 169? @jackiebuntan"
The video highlighted the solid front kick that the Filipino-American landed on her Argentinian foe to inflict maximum damage and stun her. Apart from the kick, Buntan also evaded a spinning backfist counter from Lopez. Eventually, the Boxing Works representative collected the unanimous decision nod from the judges to maintain her immaculate record under the promotion.
Jackie Buntan feels less pressure ahead of her second world title opportunity at ONE 169 against Anissa Meksen
Buntan is scheduled to face striking superstar Anissa Meksen for the inaugural ONE women's strawweight kickboxing world title on Nov. 8 at ONE 169 inside the legendary Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok.
Ahead of that championship matchup, the 27-year-old striking sensation caught up with ONE Championship for an interview and spoke about her mentality for the match compared to her first world title match. She stated:
"I feel a bit more lighter with my mentality and especially in this training camp, not to put so much pressure on myself and just really trust the work I've been doing because that's all I can do."
The loaded ONE 169 card goes down inside the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, on Nov. 8, and North American viewers with an active Prime Video subscription can watch it live and for free.
