Patience is a virtue that Japanese standout Taiki Naito takes to heart and eagerly brings inside the ONE Championship Circle. He reminded fans of this fact when he clashed with emerging Muay Thai star Johan Estupinan at ONE Fight Night 32: Nakrob vs. Jaosuayai on Prime Video last Friday, June 6.

Occurring inside the legendary Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, Naito and 'Panda Kick' set out to claim statement-making victories over the other, with the former looking to snap his two-fight skid and the latter gunning to improve his unblemished ONE record to six.

Though Estupinan banked on his explosive striking style early on, 'Silent Sniper' stayed composed. Naito's patience paid off barely a minute into the second round as he dropped Estupinan with a crisp counter-left hook.

Estupinan easily beat the count and attempted to mount a comeback. However, Naito effectively controlled most of their exchanges for the remainder of the fight to secure the unanimous decision victory.

Along with flooring the Colombian and ending his winning streak, the 29-year-old's efforts also earned him the distinction of handing Estupinan the first defeat of his 28-fight career.

Taiki Naito sets his sights on kickboxing showdown with Takeru Segawa

With his impressive dissection of Johan Estupinan, Taiki Naito called his shot to face fellow Japanese kickboxing star Takeru Segawa next in the post-fight interview with veteran combat sports journalist Nick Atkin.

The third-ranked ONE flyweight kickboxing competitor said:

"You know, today I fought in Muay Thai, but I usually also fight in kickboxing. And in ONE Championship in the ranking right now, number two is Takeru, and I'm the next. So I'd love to fight Takeru as my next opponent."
