ONE Championship recently shared Reinier de Ridder’s win against Gilberto Galvao in June 2019.
Before becoming a two-division world champion, ‘The Dutch Knight’ was looking to make a name for himself in ONE. After securing a first-round submission in his promotional debut, De Ridder was matched up against Galvao at ONE: Legendary Quest.
In the second round, De Ridder landed several brutal knees on the ground, knocking out Galvao and ending the fight. ONE recently posted the highlights of the 2019 middleweight matchup, with the caption saying:

Since defeating Galvao, De Ridder has won five more fights, including two against Aung La N Sang to become the middleweight and light heavyweight world champion. He defended the middleweight throne twice against Kiamrian Abbasov and Vitaly Bigdash before running into Anatoly Malykhin at light heavyweight.
De Ridder was unable to defend the light heavyweight title, with Malykhin securing a vicious first-round knockout. Before returning to MMA, ‘The Dutch Knight’ plans to compete in a submission grappling match inside the circle.

Reinier de Ridder is confident heading into submission grappling match against Tye Ruotolo
Reinier de Ridder has mentioned his interest in a submission grappling career once he’s done with MMA. The former two-division world champion will get the chance to showcase his skills against the young phenom Tye Ruotolo, who is 2-0 in ONE Championship and earned a $50,000 performance bonus both times.
During an interview with SCMP MMA, De Ridder had this to say about his upcoming submission grappling match:
“To be honest, I’m pretty confident right now. I’ve been training with some ADCC champs there in Texas, Gordon and John have really helped me out technique-wise.”
De Ridder vs. Ruotolo goes down on May 5 at ONE Fight Night on Prime Video, the promotion’s first live event in North America. The historic event can be seen live and for free by North American Prime Video subscribers.
