Russian MMA powerhouse Shamil Gasanov made a dream debut in ONE Championship when he submitted South Korean MMA star Kim Jae Woong in October 2022 at ONE on Prime Video 3 at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
His winning moment was looked back pn by ONE Championship through an Instagram post, which was captioned:
"2 minutes of madness! 😤 Can Shamil Gassanov put on a show and take down Halil Amir at ONE Fight Night 26 on @primevideo? @shamilcobra"
'The Cobra' maximized his grappling superiority to take 'The Fighting God' down the mat and wheel his way into a submission finish.
Gasanov's choice of weapon was the rear-naked choke that Kim immediately tapped on when the Russian sensation tightly locked it in.
After that win over Kim, the 29-year-old added two more victims to his hit list, beating Oh Ho Taek in January 2024 at ONE Fight Night 18 and Aaron Canarte in August 2024 at ONE Fight Night 24.

The Peresvet Fight Team and Tiger Muay Thai representative looks to extend his win streak to three when he takes on Halil Amir in featherweight MMA on Dec. 6 as part of the loaded ONE Fight Night 26 card, which goes down inside the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
A win for Gasanov could propel him up the rankings and inch him closer to his first potential shot at the ONE featherweight MMA world title, currently held by Chinese superstar Tang Kai.
North American viewers with an active Prime Video subscription can watch all the action at ONE Fight Night 26 on Dec. 6 live and for free.
