Sage Northcutt displayed his impressive combination of power and speed while shadowboxing outdoors.

Along with a superhero-like physique, Northcutt possesses the tools to make him a dangerous opponent for anyone in the ONE Championship lightweight division. Ahead of his return to the Circle, the Asia-based promotion shared an Instagram video showcasing ‘Super’ shadowboxing, with the caption saying:

“Sage Northcutt is CRISP 💪 The American star makes his long-awaited return on U.S. soil at ONE Fight Night 10 on Prime Video against Ahmed Mujtaba on May 5! 🔥 @supersagenorthcutt”

Northcutt made his ONE debut in May 2019 with a pro-MMA record of 11-2. He was matched up against Muay Thai specialist Cosmo Alexandre at welterweight. The multi-time karate world champion had his promotional debut spoiled as Alexandre secured an unforgettable knockout in 29 seconds.

Four years after his last bout, Northcutt will return to the Circle on May 5 at ONE Fight Night 10 on Prime Video. ‘Super’ has been matched up against Ahmed Mujtaba, who is coming off back-to-back first-round finishes. ONE Fight Night 10 will be the promotion’s first live event in North America, which can be seen live and for free by North American Prime Video subscribers.

Sage Northcutt says his fighting career is ‘just getting started’

Sage Northcutt’s loss to Cosmo Alexandre was more than a blemish on his record. The American suffered several facial fractures, leading to surgery. Despite being away for several years, ‘Super’ is only 26 years old with plenty of time to become a world champion.

During an interview with ONE Championship, Northcutt had this to say about his future as a fighter:

"Being 26 years old right now, I’m still extremely young, so I’m looking forward to a long and successful career. I feel like I’m just getting started, and I’m still so young that I can have a lot of fights."

After starting his career in karate, Northcutt went 15-0 in kickboxing before transitioning to MMA. There have been some bumps and bruises along the way, but the 27-year-old believes he still has limitless potential. Only time will tell if he can earn his first ONE Championship win on May 5.
