Superlek Kiatmoo9 recently reunited with an old friend ahead of his first defense of the ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world title.
The double-champ is putting in the work heading into his world title defense against Nico Carrillo at ONE 170 on Jan. 24, 2025, at Impact Arena.
In the middle of that preparation, though, Superlek traveled to Rawai, Thailand, and met up with hip-hop superstar Wiz Khalifa at American Kickboxing Academy Thailand's facility.
Taking to Instagram, Superlek wrote he was glad to train and spar with the Grammy-nominated artist.
Superlek Kiatmoo9, who also holds the ONE flyweight kickboxing world title, posted:
"I am very happy to see you again in Thailand. Welcome to Thailand 🥰"
Superlek once trained Wiz, whose real name is Cameron Jibril Thomaz, in the art of Muay Thai in 2023 and things rapidly grew for the multi-awarded artist.
Wiz was showing his chops against Superlek during their sparring session and displayed a sense of maturity between the ropes.
This wasn't the first time a rap superstar connected with a ONE Championship fighter.
Denzel Curry was in attendance at ONE Fight Night 7 to show his support for Tawanchai PK Saenchai when the ONE featherweight Muay Thai world champion retained his gold against Jamal Yusupov.
As for Superlek, the two-sport and two-division world champion is ready to defend his bantamweight Muay Thai throne in what could be a difficult matchup against Carrillo.
The 5-foot-10 Scottish knockout machine is a perfect 4-0 in ONE Championship, with all four of his wins coming via knockout.
Superlek, however, is an impressive 15-1 in the promotion and rides an unstoppable 11-fight winning streak.
'The Kicking Machine' is coming off a 49-second knockout of Jonathan Haggerty to capture the ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world title at ONE 168: Denver at Ball Arena in Colorado.
Superlek Kiatmoo9 unbothered by Nico Carrillo's overwhelming style
Nico Carrillo has struck fear among the bantamweight Muay Thai division, but Superlek Kiatmoo9 isn't too pressed with 'King of the North' ahead of ONE 170.
In an interview with the South China Morning Post, Superlek said he's excited about the challenge Carrillo would bring to their Bangkok showdown.
"I'm not scared of guys like this. I like to fight guys with this style, and I like new challenges too."
