What did Conor McGregor say about Francis Ngannou's UFC exit? Find out the Irishman's take

Conor McGregor has given his thoughts on Francis Ngannou's exit from the UFC.

The former UFC heavyweight champion shocked the world earlier this year when he vacated his title and decided to leave the promotion. Following the last bout on his contract against Cyril Gane, Ngannou was offered the biggest contract in the history of the UFC heavyweight division.

However, Francis Ngannou chose not to extend his contract and look out for different options instead. Speaking about the former UFC heavyweight champion leaving the organization, Conor McGregor recently gave his thoughts on the same.

During a recent appearance on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, McGregor said that he feels Francis Ngannou made an "error." While suggesting that he wishes nothing but the best for Ngannou, 'The Notorious' said:

"He [Francis Ngannou] was in that PI, using all the equipment, there was no dough on that, you know? There wouldn't have been no charge on that. Like he's gonna get accommodation, he's getting everything sorted. I thought he made an error to be honest. I mean he hasn't fought in a minute. Get a bout under the belt and then maybe start. I wasn't sure why he done that to be honest and you know, it kinda took the shine off him, how it went but look, I wish him well."

Conor McGregor speaks on potential trilogy against Nate Diaz

Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz's rivalry is one of the best that the UFC has ever seen. They first clashed at UFC 196 when Diaz upset the odds by beating McGregor via submission. However, the Irishman went on to avenge his loss against 'The Stockton Slugger' at UFC 202 by earning a split decision victory.

While on The MMA Hour, McGregor spoke about a potential trilogy against Nate Diaz. 'The Notorious' suggested that there was unfinished business and a trilogy is bound to happen:

"I'll get that again. That trilogy will happen at some stage for sure... We must fight. We're one apiece, it's a great rivalry, and it was a great fight so we've got to square that away for sure... Am I a person not to get the fights made and done and happen? Look at all the fights I've had. When I say it, it happens."
