What is the current fight card for UFC 284: Islam Makhachev vs. Alexander Volkanovski?

Islam Makhachev and Alexander Volkanovski are set to headline UFC 284 next year in Perth, Australia. The fight card is already shaping up well, with many interesting contests already being booked for the February 11 pay-per-view event.

Yair Rodriguez and Josh Emmett are scheduled to face off for the interim featherweight championship in light of reigning champ Volkanovski stepping up to lightweight.

Robert Whittaker and Paulo Costa will likely put on a show-stopping performance in the middleweight division. The two fighters are known for being involved in exciting bouts.

Mingyang Zhang will be making his UFC debut at UFC 284, with the Chinese fighter taking on Tyson Pedro in the light heavyweight division. Jack Jenkins will also be making his UFC debut in Perth against Don Shainis in the featherweight division.

The only heavyweight bout scheduled to take place in Australia is Justin Tafa vs. Parker Porter. Joshua Culibao will also look to extend his two-fight UFC winning streak against Melsik Baghdasaryan.

Jimmy Crute and Alonzo Menifield will take each other on in the 205lbs division. Kleydson Rodrigues vs. Shannon Ross is the only other bout scheduled for the Perth pay-per-view event as of now.


How many losses have both UFC 284 main-event fighters suffered in the UFC?

As mentioned, Islam Makhachev and Alexander Volkanovski will be fighting in the main event of UFC 284. Both fighters have incredible professional MMA records, with only Makhachev losing in the UFC. Volkanovski has never lost while competing under the UFC banner.

The Dagestani fighter suffered his first and only professional MMA defeat when taking on Adriano Martins at UFC 192: Cormier vs. Gustafsson. Makhachev was TKO'd in the first round by the Brazilian. However, the Dagestani went on to win 11-fights in a row in the promotion.

Corey Nelson is the only fighter to have beaten Alexander Volkanovski in pro-MMA. He did it at Australian FC 5: Hooker vs. McBride 2 back in 2013. Nelson TKO'd Volkanovski in the third round at the Australia-based event.

Since that loss, Volkanovski has managed to win 22 professional MMA outings in a row and is currently the featherweight king of the UFC. 'The Great' will have a chance to become a two-weight UFC champion at UFC 284.
