Randy Couture made his UFC debut back in 1997 at UFC 13: Ultimate Force and went on to have a highly successful career in the organization. Couture left the organization in 2011 with a record of 16 wins and eight losses after 24 outings under the UFC banner.

The majority of Couture's losses in the UFC came against some of the biggest names in the sport at the time. The likes of Lyoto Machida, Brock Lesnar, Chuck Liddell, and Vitor Belfort got the better of 'The Natural' during his UFC career.

Randy Couture scored some impressive victories during his UFC career, beating Chuck Liddell, Tito Ortiz, Vitor Belfort, and Tim Sylvia. Couture's most recent victory in the organization came at UFC 118: Edgar vs. Penn 2 in 2010, defeating boxing legend James Toney on his MMA debut.

Toney lost via submission in the very first round when taking on Couture. Joe Rogan later called the bout "easy" for Couture, with the commentator seemingly unimpressed with the boxer's MMA ability against a high-level fighter in Couture.

What has Randy Couture recently said about his decision to retire from MMA?

During a recent interview with MMA Junkie, Randy Couture spoke about his decision to walk away from MMA after losing against Lyoto Machida at UFC 129: St. Pierre vs. Shields in 2011.

'The Natural' stated that he was always planning to walk away from the sport no matter what happened at UFC 129. Couture went on to say that even if he had defeated the Brazilian, his time in the sport would've been over:

"I ultimately decided that Lyoto camp was going to be my last – win, lose or draw. It was time to move on. That internal dialogue was already going on. Even if I had beat Lyoto, I was done. I was walking away from the sport after that fight."
