Jay Hieron is a former MMA fighter who is now looking to succeed as an actor.
During the UFC 285 ceremonial weigh-ins, Hieron and big-time actor Jake Gyllenhaal stepped on the scale and faced off. The video of the actors surfaced on social media, confusing some fans about the reason for them being there.
It turns out they were shooting a scene for the upcoming Road House remake, which features Conor McGregor. Gyllenhaal took the intensity during their faceoff by slapping Hieron lightly. ‘The Thoroughbred’ has experience being at a UFC weigh-in, while the famous American actor did a phenomenal job blending in.
Hieron made his documented pro-MMA debut in July 2003, winning his first three fights. The New York native then fought at UFC 48, losing to the legendary Georges St-Pierre by punches in the first round.
‘The Thoroughbred’ won three more fights outside of the UFC before returning to the promotion at UFC Fight Night 2. He suffered another loss, this time against Jonathan Goulet, due to a cut, pushing his record to 7-2.
He wouldn’t return to the UFC until 2012. In the meantime, the Xtreme Couture affiliate found tremendous success with a 7-2 overall record in IFL, a 3-1 record in Bellator, and a 2-0 record in Strikeforce. ‘The Thoroughbred’ ended his MMA career in the UFC with two more losses to Jake Ellenberger and Tyron Woodley.
Although Jay Hieron never won in the UFC, the New York native has a respectable fighting career.

When will the Road House remake featuring Jay Hieron, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Conor McGregor be released?
The original Road House movie was released in 1989. The film was so beloved over the years that a remake seemed necessary. Conor McGregor was added to the cast, making headlines throughout the MMA community. After several months of filming, ‘The Notorious’ confirmed they were done filming and starting post-production.
There has been no official release date for the Road House remake, but the Doug-Liman-directed movie will likely be available in late 2023 or early 2024. While the film is being produced, McGregor is returning to the UFC by coaching The Ultimate Fighter and then fighting Michael Chandler at the end of the season.
