Amanda Nunes won her rematch with flyweight queen Valentina Shevchenko at UFC 215.

The pair met for the first time at UFC 196, where 'The Lioness' secured a unanimous decision victory over 'Bullet'. In the second fight, Amanda Nunes fell on the right side of a split decision verdict against Valentina Shevchenko.

In the rematch, judges Sal D'Amato and David Therien scored the bout 48-47 in favor of Nunes. Judge Tony Weeks, on the other hand, scored the contest 48-47 for Shevchenko.

Valentina Shevchenko was clearly disappointed with the result and didn't hold back on the mic while being interviewed by Joe Rogan.

Shevchenko shook her head in disdain at the decision while being interviewed by the UFC color commentator, saying:

"I really don't understand. Why did the victory go to the other side? For two takedowns in all five rounds? She didn't hit me - not one time, not one punch. Nothing significant. Look at her face. Her nose is [a] rose. Your nose is red from my punches. And why she steal? She steal! I really don't understand. Even when I went to the ground, I hit [her] very hard - from the back position, from the ground position. And I really don't understand why [I didn't win]."

According to the official UFC stats, Amanda Nunes had a strike rate of 48%, landing 90 out of 180 total thrown strikes on 'Bullet'. Shevchenko, meanwhile, had a strike rate of 37% and landed 85 out of 209 total strikes on 'The Lioness'.

Nunes attempted eight takedowns and succeeded twice, with a takedown rate of 25%. Shevchenko had a takedown rate of 0%, having attempted one takedown unsuccessfully.

In terms of significant strikes, Amanda Nunes landed 86 out of 176. Valentina Shevchenko, in contrast, landed 72 out of 194 significant strikes on Nunes. In total, 'The Lioness' had a higher strike rate in four out of five rounds, with Shevchenko edging her out in the fifth.

As of now, both fighters are the reigning queens of their respective divisions. Amanda Nunes is the current UFC women's featherweight and bantamweight champion, having lost and regained her 135-pound title in a two-fight series with Julianna Pena.

Valentina Shevchenko won the UFC flyweight title against Joanna Jędrzejczyk at UFC 231 and has defended the title seven times since.
