Conor McGregor and Artem Lobov are long-time friends and teammates. During the Russian's stint in the UFC, McGregor made it a point to be present for almost all of his fights unless he was fighting on the card himself.

In a bizarre turn of events, their friendship seems to be no more after Lobov sued the Irishman for millions over a dispute regarding Proper Twelve.

Proper No. Twelve Irish Whiskey was a whiskey that the UFC star launched in September 2018. Three years later, Conor McGregor, his manager Audie Attar and British businessman Ken Austin sold their shares in Proper Twelve for a massive profit. It made each of them hundreds of millions of dollars.

As per a report by The Irish Independent, Lobov is suing him for not giving him his share of the sale.

According to the Russian, he has an agreement that entitles him to five percent of the money that McGregor made from the sale of Proper Twelve. Lobov initiated High Court action and claims that he was instrumental in helping create the whiskey brand. He claimed he was the one who gave 'The Notorious' the idea of starting a beverage company and selling Irish whiskey.

Artem Lobov claims to have turned down a $1 million deal from Conor McGregor

Artem Lobov spoke in an interview in August this year about how he played a pivotal role in the creation of Proper Twelve Whiskey. He was promoting his book and said that the main selling point of the book would be the Whiskey deal with Conor McGregor.

Lobov claimed that he came up with the idea for it and he explained how it happened. He then stated that he turned down an offer from the Irishman:

"Conor (McGregor) offered me one million dollars but I turned it down. I didn't accept it, you know throughout my career, whenever I would help Conor with camps and everything he would offer me to pay for the camps but I never accepted money from him."

Three months later, the Russian is now suing his former training partner and teammate on the same topic. Fans on Twitter have questioned Lobov's actions, saying McGregor was the one that 'gave' him his UFC career.

"This dude conor literally gave artem a career and this is how he’s getting treated. Crazy"
