“You don't get paid by the hour” - Jonathan Haggerty eyeing $50,000 bonus-winning performance

'The General' Jonathan Haggerty is looking to get in, get a knockout, get his money, and go home in prompt time. The British fighter will be making his debut in bantamweight Muay Thai at ONE on Prime Video 4.

Regarding facing Russia's Vladimir Kuzmin, Haggerty admits it will be a challenge, but he will still be aiming for a knockout finish. In an interview with ONE Championship, 'The General' said:

“I feel like it will be tough to get him out of there. You know, I might go to points. But I am looking for the stoppage and I'm also looking for a $50k bonus. If it's there, then I'm going to take it. You don't get paid by the hour!”

The former ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion struggled to weigh in under the flyweight limit earlier this year. Thus, Haggerty will move up into the competitive bantamweight division.

The Muay Thai striker will be making his bantamweight debut at ONE on Prime Video 4 on November 18. The Muay Thai battle can be enjoyed live and for free on Prime Video for all Amazon Prime Video subscribers in North America.

Jonathan Haggerty is looking at MMA

The 25-year-old striker may not remain in Muay Thai forever. Jonathan Haggerty recently discussed his desire to change jobs and make his debut in MMA while in ONE Championship.

In an interview with ONE, 'The General' said 2023 may be the time to make his way into MMA:

“The time is now or never really, you know, so it was a tough decision whether to go straight in to pursue MMA or to go back to Muay Thai. We took the bantamweight division, we're going to see how it goes. But I feel like next year, 2023 is the year that I put some submissions on people.”

Before he can compete in MMA, Haggerty has a very challenging fight ahead of him. Russian fighter Vladimir Kuzmin plans on spoiling Haggerty's debut in the bantamweight Muay Thai division.
