Deontay Wilder recently expressed his acceptance for a boxing match against Francis Ngannou, but combat sports fans turned a cold shoulder towards his revelation. Wilder's disclosure garnered negative comments from fans despite being respectful towards his potential rival, Ngannou.
Ngannou's boxing career began with his departure from the UFC in early 2023. His new contract with PFL allowed him to contest boxing matches upon his wish. 'The Predator' earned a lot of respect from the boxing community after scoring a knockdown on Tyson Fury despite picking up a loss in his in-ring debut.
But Ngannou's defeat in his second in-ring encounter was unquestionable. The Cameroon native endured two knockdowns before getting knocked out cold in the second round of his fight against Anthony Joshua.
In an interview with TMZ Sports, Wilder revealed his wish to take on Ngannou, along with expressing his condolences for the loss of his son, Kobe. 'The Bronze Bomber' said:
"There’s been a lot of offers coming in, different things and different stuff from countries, even with Francis. What’s up, brother? Hope everything’s going good. Man, I’m sorry for your loss. I can only imagine what it feels like to lose a child… And yeah, that’s a conversation [about the fight] I’m still looking to get in there in the mix and talk about it."

Wilder's interview did garner positive comments on YouTube. But a large chunk of fans also expressed their lack of interest in watching Wilder inside the ring. A few such comments read:
"Stupid fight. Deontay Wilder. You are yesterday's news. You are washed up. Just stop."
"He is washed sorry"
"Bro should retire"
"He needs to give it up"

Francis Ngannou expressed condolences for people affected by the landslide in Dschang, Cameroon
As of now, Francis Ngannou is doing a lot better than the initial part of this year when he lost his 15-month-old son, Kobe. But he was shattered by another grievous incident recently.
On Nov. 5, Cameroon’s Minister of Public Works, Emmanuel Nganou Djoumessi, revealed that four people were killed and 50 others went missing due to a massive landslide that happened along the highway connecting Dschang in western Cameroon to Douala.
Ngannou sent his condolences to his affected countrymen with an Instagram update. It's caption read:
"Unbelievable growth fall yesterday at the Dschang Falaise that caused the deaths of dozens of people. My condolences to the families of the deceased, may they rest in peace."
