Chinese dynamite Zhang Peimian has vowed to finish his next fight with a resounding knockout at ONE Fight Night 8 on Prime Video.

The young standout is as fired up as he’s ever been after experiencing his first loss against Jonathan Di Bella for the vacant ONE strawweight kickboxing world title. Adamant on getting a second crack at gold, the Chinese powerstriker is on the hunt for a knockout.

Speaking to ONE Championship, the 19-year-old rising star said:

“I think it won’t be long. In fact, after the first combo we throw, I’ll know exactly how quickly I can finish it. But no matter what, I think it’s going to be a KO, and probably in the second or third round.”

Zhang has every reason to feel over-confident about finding the finish against his Russian rival Torepchi Dongak. He’s a powerful counter-striker with an insatiable ability to stalk and wear down his opponents with his pace. Highly technical, fast, and precise, he’s a walking nightmare for anyone sharing the ring with him.

As evidenced by his first two matches in ONE Championship, Zhang Peimian doesn’t need a lot of time to set up his punching combinations. Against Josh Tonna on his promotional debut, Zhang strategically wore down his Australian rival, overwhelming him with strikes on the outside until Tonna quit from exhaustion.

If Zhang is given an opportunity to get comfortable, there’s no question that Torepchi Dongak will have a tough time earning his respect.

American audiences can watch ONE Fight Night 8 live and for free via an Amazon Prime Video subscription.

Zhang Peimian is looking forward to meeting Jonathan Di Bella again in a rematch

‘Fighting Rooster’ Zhang Peimian is still haunted by the loss he suffered to Jonathan Di Bella at ONE 162 last year.

As someone who is accustomed to bullying opponents against the cage, Zhang never thought he would get a taste of his own medicine when he confronted Di Bella.

The Canadian-Italian striker did well to defend from Zhang’s left hooks, leaving little to no opportunity for the Chinese dynamite to find momentum with some volume.

After a closely contested battle between the two, Di Bella scored big with a massive head kick to knock down the Chinese phenom flat on the ground. Zhang Peimian got up but was still seeing stars as Di Bella closed the distance. Fortunately, he was saved by the bell.

When asked by ONE Championship who would be next for him after Torepchi Dongak, the young phenom replied:

"[I want] Di Bella because he holds my belt. No one gets me more interested than him."
