ONE FC News: Fight promotion signs huge new contract

What's the story?

For a long time, ONE Championship has been gaining ground as a fight promotion. While Bellator MMA and UFC are the two established fight promotions the Asian-based promotion has shown significant promise in recent years, signing high profile stars and putting on better shows each time.

Now, the latest news is huge for One Championship as they have signed an incredible Television deal with Turner Sports according to recent reports by ESPN.

In case you didn't know...

2018 has proved to be an extremely important year for ONE Championship. Everything they attempted this year went well, be it signing some of the best talents in the world, or expanding their product far beyond where it had been initially.

The past two months have been the biggest in ONE FC's recent history. Meisha Tate was signed by them to serve as Vice President to the company, and talents like Sage Northcutt, Eddie Alvarez, Demetrious Johnson, and Yoshihiro Akiyama were all signed by the company.

None of them has yet made their debut, but most of them are expected to by early 2019.

The heart of the matter

As if all the above were not enough by themselves, ONE Championship has now added the proverbial cherry to the top of the cake.

ONE Championship signed a three-year broadcast deal with Turner Sports which will see their 24 events set to air live on TNT. They will also be available on B/R Live and other Turner Digital programming. The deal will also have side programming aired on Turner, and a reality show may not be far either.

What's next?

The upcoming year looks extremely promising for ONE FC at this point.

The deal is set to start from the 1st of January, 2019, with 19th January seeing their first event take place in Jakarta, Indonesia.
