ONE two-division world champion Reinier de Ridder would love it if he got the opportunity to show off his striking abilities. Unfortunately, no opponent has been able to stop his takedowns.

'The Dutch Knight' sat down for an interview with Brian Campbell on Morning Kombat and explained:

"To be honest, I don’t really see anybody stopping takedowns anytime soon. It would be cool to show off some more kickboxing, but I need the right dance partner for it."

The Dutch athlete has an incredible mastery of the grappling arts. De Ridder has walked away with victory in most of his bouts using submissions. This includes wins over former ONE world champions Aung La N Sang, Kiamrian Abbasov, and Vitaly Bigdash.

He will next put his unbeaten record on the line when he faces Anatoly Malykhin in the main event of ONE on Prime Video 5 on December 2. Russia's Malykhin is also undefeated in professional MMA. Somebody's 0 has got to.

Reinier de Ridder says Anatoly Malykhin is not special

Anatoly Malykhin is currently the ONE interim heavyweight world champion, but this does not impress 'The Dutch Knight' who currently holds the ONE middleweight and light heavyweight world titles.

While discussing his opponents' talents, Reinier de Ridder said in an interview with ONE that he will need to be cautious, but that Malykhin is nothing special:

“Well, as I said, he is dangerous, so I really need to watch everything and be very sharp. But he’s not special. He has a hard right hand. He needs a little bit of space to leap in with a large, loopy right hand, which he catches people with pretty often.”

De Ridder is confident that he will win this bout by way of first-round submission, which is a lofty claim:

“Clinch him, take him down. I see me controlling him on the floor, hitting him with some elbows, hitting him with some knees. And I see myself choking him out at the end of the first.”

It will be a war of two world titleholders in the headlining fight of ONE on Prime Video 5 on December 2. This historic matchup can be enjoyed live and for free on Prime Video for all Amazon Prime Video subscribers in North America.
