Rodtang is building stamina by cross-training in another favorite sport that requires more than one teammate: soccer.

ONE Championship recently released footage of the divisional king playing a high-cardio sport in uniform with a group of Thai teammates with the caption that said:

“In the Circle or on the field, Rodtang never stops scoring 😎⚽️ @rodtang_jimungnon

ONE Championship touched base with the 25-year-old phenom soon afterwards to get his opinion on why he chooses to play soccer when he’s not training inside the gym. ‘The Iron Man’ replied:

“Maybe it helps my cardio, agility, and movement. When I play soccer, I have to run around the whole field. It is good for my stamina.”

Fans were equally impressed by his soccer-scoring abilities, they wrote down their hilarious reactions in the comments section below:

“I know he plays without shin guards”
“Rodtanguinho ⚽”
“No elbows ok 👍”

Rodtang’s body is going to thank him for doing all that cross-training in preparation for his world title matchup with Joseph Lasiri at ONE on Prime Video 4. His challenger is known for his cardio and rhythm, so the 25-year-old phenom needs to match him in pace and aggression if the fight goes the distance.

North American subscribers can catch the full action live and for free this Friday, November 18 on Amazon Prime Video.

Chael Sonnen says Rodtang needs to win with a KO or lose by decision

Chael Sonnen gave a thoughtful perspective on Rodtang vs. Lasiri on his podcast, which has some merit.

He stated:

“Rodtang’s gotta do some damage. Can we agree? Rodtang would like to knock him out but like Mike Tyson said, if you go for the knockout, you’re not gonna win the decision.”

Joseph Lasiri has become a new threat in the Muay Thai circuit. Despite not being a finisher, he's very methodical in his approach. The Italian-Moroccan striker does well under pressure and loves to draw opponents in at close range where he finds the most success.

If 'Iron Man' doesn't stop Lasiri in the early rounds, the strawweight standout has a good chance of picking him apart with volume to earn a decision victory on the judges scorecards.
