Rubber Match Between Kevin Belingon and Bibiano Fernandes For The ONE Bantamweight World Title Announced

The Ryōgoku Kokugikan is the venue where three ONE World Titles will be on the line. For ONE Championship CEO Chatri Sityodong however, he feels that ONE: A NEW ERA can still accommodate one more World Title match and he recently made the announcement on his official Facebook page.

In a Facebook post dated 27 January, Sityodtong revealed that ONE Bantamweight World Champion Kevin “The Silencer” Belingon will defend his title against Bibiano “The Flash” Fernandes in a trilogy bout set to take place on 31 March in Tokyo, Japan.

Belingon and Fernandes have met in battle twice before, with each man winning once. This rubber match would be the first title defense for the Baguio City native.

These athletes have put up impressive careers and have been on a collision course since they joined ONE Championship. This third bout will settle all questions on who the true division leader really is.

Both Fernandes and Belingon will stop at nothing to win. With Team Lakay losing two ONE World Titles early in 2019, Belingon looks to keep the belt in the Philippines to maintain the prestige that his team has worked hard for. Fernandes, on the other hand, is hungry to reclaim the title he lost and reestablish his reign as the best bantamweight in the world.

Belingon will be joining Eduard “Landslide” Folayang, Xiong “The Panda” Jing Nan, and Aung La “The Burmese Python” N Sang in defending their titles against Shinya “Tobikan Judan” Aoki, Angela “Unstoppable” Lee, and Ken Hasegawa respectively.

Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson and Eddie “The Underground King” Alvarez are also set to make their promotional debuts in ONE Championship as they set to compete in separate ONE Grand Prix bouts.

As Belingon and Fernandes prepare for the most important match of their lives to date, we can only expect that it will be an action-packed meeting between two hungry warriors.
