Muay Thai sensation Tawanchai PK Saenchai said he would be willing to fight former rival and friend Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong to set things right again in a potential rematch.

The current 2-time ONE Muay Thai featherweight world champion is on the hunt for his next opponent after making quick work of Jamal Yusupov last Friday. Currently the no.4-ranked contender in the division,‘Killer Kid’ Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong is certainly a worthy candidate as his next challenger, considering their history.

The 31-year-old kickboxer handed Tawanchai his first loss under the promotion back in August 2021 at ONE: Battleground III. It was an exciting bantamweight matchup from start to finish but Sitthichai ultimately edged the win by split-decision.

As many fans know, Tawanchai doesn’t like to fight against his friends. However, when it comes to avenging a loss, perhaps he can make an exception.

Speaking to The MMA Superfan at the post-event interviews, he said:

“I have a lot of respect for Sitthichai, and we talk daily. So if ONE Championship wants us to fight, that's okay. I am ready.”

Since Tawanchai moved up to a heavier weight class, the Muay Thai phenom has been unstoppable. He knocked out high-quality opponents in Saemapetch Fairtex and Niclas Larsen in a bid to challenge for the world title, which he successfully attained in mesmerizing fashion back in September 2022.

Moving onwards from an astonishing one-kick knockout of Jamal Yusupov last week, the Pattaya native is looking forward to what the promotion has next in store for him. Whether an Openweight Muay Thai World Grand Prix is on the cards or not, fans are going to see more of him in the months to come.

Fans speculate the type of injury Jamal Yusupov absorbed from Tawanchai’s vicious leg kick

Tawanchai PK Saenchai only needed 49 seconds to stop Jamal Yusupov dead in his tracks at ONE Fight Night 7 on Prime Video. Only a single-leg kick sufficed in bringing his opponent down in the first round, which has left fans speculating about the cause of Yusupov’s early demise.

Here’s what the fans believe happened within those few milliseconds when the kick landed on Yusupov’s leg:

@fightingdoc wrote:

“Possibility of meniscus or ACL injury with that mechanism of rotation after the kick lands. May have had injuries to that knee beforehand which could have played a role too. Also being 39 years old in this game comes with its cons. Best wishes for a healthy recovery.”

Another fan added:

“That thudding kick sounds like he snapped his ITB. Or an extreme case of charley horse 🤔”

The Turkish star is currently recovering from an old injury and not precisely from a broken leg. Nevertheless, fans across the world send him a speedy recovery.
