What's the story?

We're days away from the blockbuster UFC 232 event and the predictions are expectedly coming in fast and thick.

Joey Diaz was on the Christmas Eve edition of the Joe Rogan podcast and the two discussed the fights that will be featured on the upcoming UFC 232 card.

While a lot has been said about the main event, Rogan gave his two cents on the co-main event of the evening between Amanda Nunes and Cris Cyborg.

The UFC commentator picked Cyborg over Nunes and backed it up with a sensible breakdown of the much-anticipated fight. However, he gave enough reasons to put one's money on Nunes going into the fight.

In case you didn't know...

The venue of UFC 232 had to be shifted from Las Vegas to California after Jon Jones failed another drug test. The former Light Heavyweight Champion tested positive for minute amounts of Turnibol.

The USADA claimed that the traces were from his previously failed test from 2017 for which Jones served a one-and-a-half year ban.

However, the Nevada State Athletic Commision barred Jones from fighting in Las Vegas and the entire card itself was moved to California's The Forum after the California Athletic Commision gave him the green signal to fight.

Naturally, the other fighters on the card have been inconvenienced by the impromptu change as Dana White has backed the faultless Bones in the aftermath of the events.

While all the criticism directed at Jones, UFC and the USADA is justified, the show must go on and the women could be the ones who steal it once all is said and done.

The heart of the matter

Joe Rogan podcasts that feature Joey Diaz are always insightful and this was no different. While talking about the Women' Featherweight title fight, Rogan was quick to give the advantage to Cyborg owing to her size advantage.

He broke down his claim by saying that Cyborg is gifted with good technique, power, and the size required to beat Nunes.

Rogan, though, gave Nunes props for her power and predicted the Lioness to give Cyborg a stern test.

Rogan continued by saying that Nunes has the power to crack Cyborg and credited her for being a more powerful puncher than Holly Holm.

Holm interestingly went the distance against Cyborg and considering Nunes' one-punch knockout power, Rogan isn't counting out the UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion.

He cited Cyborg's fight against Gina Carano from Strikeforce in which Carano had her moments before Cyborg dominated towards a victory.

Unlike Carano, Rogan feels Nunes has the power to trouble Cyborg, and maybe, could pull off a big upset against a fighter who has just been beaten once in 23 fights.

Nunes' coming-of-the-age win against Ronda Rousey and her most recent defense over Raquel Pennington solidified her spot as the scariest women's Bantamweight in the UFC, and quite possibly the greatest of all time, according to Rogan.
