UFC Fight Night 126 was a somewhat underrated card, to begin with, and delivered in a huge way---violence and finishes galore.

Cowboy returned to the win column in an impressive way; showcasing much-improved boxing skills. On the other hand, the co-headliner of the evening saw a lackluster fight turn on its head; ending in a brutal KO.

#Main Card (FOX Sports 1)

#1 Donald Cerrone vs. Yancy Medeiros

Donald Cerrone turned in a vintage Cowboy performance; obliterating Medeiros in Round 1.

Although the fight just lasted for a round, the exchanges were highly entertaining. In fact, Medeiros held his own in most of the exchanges up until the final 10 seconds, when Cowboy doled out an insanely accurate boxing combination to bring an end to the bout.

Cerrone got back to his winning ways and showcased improved boxing skills in his amazing performance at UFC Austin.

#2 Derrick Lewis vs. Marcin Tybura

Derrick Lewis lost the majority of his bout with Marcin Tybura; as the latter seemed firmly in control over the course of 3 rounds.

However, Tybura seemed to get complacent towards the end, and Lewis managed to catch him right on the button. Lewis dropped Tybura with his vaunted fists, and turned the entire fight on its head in an instant.

Furthermore, Lewis went on to mention his wife—making a few questionable comments about her during the live interview broadcast—besides, also mentioning Bellator on a live UFC broadcast. Fans can expect Lewis to face the repercussions of his actions over the next few days.

#3 James Vick vs. Francisco Trinaldo

James Vick put on a tremendous performance against Trinaldo.

Vick used his long jab to keep the latte at bay; avoiding Trinaldo’s looping hooks. Vick showcased excellent boxing skills and a great understanding of distance management all through the fight—with the judges awarding the decision to the “Texecutioner” in the end.

#4 Curtis Millender vs. Thiago Alves

Curtis Millender absolutely obliterated Thiago Alves, in the second stanza of their bout.

Millender deserves credit for taking his time rather than rushing in for the finish. He caught Alves early and often, and just when it felt as though he left the latter off the hook, Millender landed a brutal knee on Alves; finishing the veteran on Round 2.

#5 Brandon Davis vs. Steven Peterson

Brandon Davis and Steven Peterson put on a brilliant show for the fans, as they engaged in an all-out slugfest.

Davis seemed to be getting the upper hand, as regards timing and rhythm—something which proved to be the difference in the end. Davis out-struck Peterson and impressed the judges enough so as to warrant the decision.

Result: Brandon Davis def. Steven Peterson via Unanimous Decision (30-27, 29-28, 30-26)


#6 Sage Northcutt vs. Thibault Gouti

Sage Northcutt seemed to be in trouble on not one but two occasions over the course of this 3-round fight.

Nevertheless, despite having Northcutt rocked, Gouti inexplicably initiated grappling exchanges on both occasions with ‘Super’ Sage. Resultantly, Northcutt regained his composure and worked his way back into the fight; winning the bout in what was a close decision.

#1 Carlos Diego Ferreira vs. Jared Gordon

Carlos Diego Ferreira shined at UFC Austin
Carlos Diego Ferreira notched another at UFC Austin

Carlos Diego Ferreira hit Jared Gordon in the groin—not once, but twice.

Regardless, the bout went on as usual, without Ferreira being penalized for his actions. Moments later, Ferreira caught Gordon on the mat, with the latter having one of his arms trapped under Ferreira; following which Ferreira unleashed with ground & pound for the stoppage victory.

#2 Geoff Neal vs. Brian Camozzi

Geoff Neal read Camozzi perfectly right off the bat—be it the standup or the mat exchanges.

Neal tagged Camozzi at will, and continued his dominance on the mat as well. Neal caught his foe in a beautiful Bulldog Choke in the end for the submission victory.

#3 Roberto Sanchez vs. Joby Sanchez

Roberto Sanchez ran through Joby Sanchez as though a hot knife through butter.

Roberto was unrelenting with his forward pressure, and that combined with his athleticism, spelled doom for Joby. In the very first round of the bout, Roberto caught Joby in a Rear-Naked Choke after a quick transition to the back; for the submission win.

#4 Lucie Pudilova vs. Sarah Moras

Lucie Pudilova seemed to have trouble with Moras’ rhythm and awkward striking in the initial stages of the matchup.

Pudilova, however, adjusted brilliantly, and took the fight to Moras midway. Pudilova dropped Moras on a couple of occasions over the course of their bout, resultantly, swaying the judges in her favor.

#1 Alex Morono vs. Josh Burkman

Alex Morono picked up a huge win at UFC Austin
Alex Morono picked up a huge win at UFC Austin

Morono bested Josh Burkman with relative ease in this matchup; tagging the latter at will.

While the bout didn’t last too long, Burkman took considerable punishment, and seemed to be dazed when Morono caught him in a Guillotine Choke. Morono squeezed the Guillotine and secured the stoppage almost instantly.

#2 Oskar Piechota vs. Tim Williams

Oskar Piechota was in big trouble early in this matchup—being dropped by Tim Williams strikes.

However, Piechota survived brilliantly and came back to drop Williams with an excellent right hand. The end came soon in this highly entertaining, wild bout, as Piechota put Williams to sleep with a barrage of punches.
