#2 Kevin Holland vs. John Phillips
In one of the only bouts not involving local Chinese talent, Kevin Holland faced off against John Phillips. Holland came into this fight after a disappointing defeat in his debut fight in the UFC, and a win here would have really turned things around for him.
Holland ended up throwing some big shots at Phillips in the first round, and it looked like they might hurt him. Holland could not go in for the finish, as despite being hurt, it looked like Phillips could knock him out.
They both stayed in the fight, with Phillips getting in some hard shots, but Holland held his own and actually dominated towards the end.
The second round was more of the same, but for Phillips. Phillips dropped Holland and it was only a matter of time before he took advantage against him.
Holland got back and was dazed in the second round, but by the time it was over, it was obviously Phillips who was dominating heading into the third.
The third round was all about Holland as he kept Phillips on the ground each time he got up. He was unable to get a footing as Holland's offence was too much for Phillips. He ended up having to tap out when Holland locked in the Rear Naked Choke on him.
