Tim Means performed well but ended up on the wrong end of a questionable decision

Sergio Moraes and Tim Means engaged in a considerably entertaining bout.

While Means seemed to have this fight in the bag; Moraes had his moments too. Means seemed to have the slight edge in the stand-up as well as in his overall exhibition of MMA skills, however, in the end, 2 of the 3 judges decided to award the decision to Moraes.

Result: Sergio Moraes def. Tim Means via Split Decision (28-29, 29-28, 29-28)


#2 Alan Patrick vs. Damir Hadzovic

Alan Patrick put on a decent performance against a game Damir Hadzovic.

Patrick showed excellent timing and distance management in the stand-up. Besides, his cardio held up well, as he pushed the pace up until the end of the bout.

In the end, Patrick seemed to have secured the fight with a dominant display in every avenue of the fight, following which the judges awarded him the decision victory.

Result: Alan Patrick def. Damir Hadzovic via Unanimous Decision (30-25, 30-27, 30-27)


#3 Polyana Viana vs. Maia Stevenson

Polyana Viana thoroughly out-classed Maia Stevenson both on the feet as well as the mat.

Viana seemed to slice through Stevenson’s guard; slipping in a slick Rear Naked Choke. While Viana could’ve taken her time to transition to the choke, the difference in their respective BJJ skills enabled her to skip a couple of steps, and secure the choke right away.

Result: Polyana Viana def. Maia Stevenson via Submission (Rear Naked Choke) (Round 1, 3:50)


#4 Iuri Alcantara vs. Joe Soto

Iuri Alcantara put on an excellent performance; finishing Soto in the very first round of this bout.

Alcantara tagged Soto early, and never quite let up. The veteran tagged Soto repeatedly with a scary barrage of alternating hooks; downing the latter within the first two minutes of the fight.
