UFC News: Aniah Blanchard reportedly "went for the gun" during kidnapping (Update)

A tragic incident in the world of MMA that has been in the news lately is the passing of Aniah Blanchard, the daughter of Heavyweight UFC fighter, Walt Harris.

It was previously reported that Aniah Blanchard had died of a gunshot wound and capital murder charges are currently being pressed against the accused Ibrahim Yazeed. The alleged culprit had previously been charged with first-degree kidnapping.

Update on Aniah Blanchard's case

Now, more details have emerged, stating that Aniah Blanchard reportedly went for the gun and was shot in the scramble that followed.

FOX News reported that Ibrahim Yazeed told a witness that he shot Blanchard because she "went for the gun". Yazeed is facing a second capital murder charge as well.

An unnamed subject saw Yazeed in a Montgomery home wearing only shorts. Yazeed had a gun in the shorts and the subject said that while he had not seen Blanchard, Yazeed had Blanchard's vehicle and that he admitted to shooting a girl.

In court, Yazeed stated that there was no evidence other than hearsay being brought against him.

Blanchard had gone missing on 23rd October and her body was recovered only last week after she had been missing for more than a month.
