UFC News: Anthony Pettis accuses Max Holloway of aping his style

Max Holloway vs. Anthony Pettis, UFC 206

Former UFC Lightweight Champion Anthony Pettis feels his UFC 206 opponent Max Holloway has built his fighting style based off his work in the UFC and WEC over the past seven years.

“Showtime” claimed that he sees elements of himself in the way “Blessed” competes.

“Max, he does a lot of the stuff that I do “I watch his fights and you can tell he’s been studying my fight style, even before he was set to fight me. A lot of stuff I do in certain situations, he does it. I think it’s easy to game plan for somebody like that. I know what he’s looking for, I know what he’s trying to do and I know what the outcome is if it does happen.”

UFC 206 comes to us live from Air Canada Centre, Toronto, this Saturday. The main card would be broadcasted on PPV following prelims on FS1 and UFC Fight Pass.

Pettis will face his compatriot for the interim UFC featherweight title at UFC 206 main event. Following the comments, Pettis also mentioned that it was easier for him to train for this fight, due to their seemingly similar style. The match is slated for five rounds, and the victor will face Jose Aldo for the UFC featherweight title.

Originally the Daniel Cormier-Anthony Johnson fight was the main event for 206, but an injury to DC forced UFC to promote this fight as the headliner for the event.

The Pettis-Holloway fight was originally a non-title bout, but subsequent to the aftermath of Mcgregor being stripped of his UFC featherweight title, the fight was promoted to be for the interim UFC featherweight title.
