What's the story?

UFC Welterweight star Colby Covington might not be the next fighter to challenge for Tyron Woodley's title belt, however, the former Interim Welterweight Champion isn't too afraid to give his honest opinion regarding the next Welterweight Championship bout between Woodley and Kamaru Usman.

In case you didn't know...

UFC Welterweight Champion, Tyron Woodley is currently coming off a highly successful 2018 having successfully defended his title against top contenders like Stephen Thompson, Demian Maia, and Darren Till at UFC 228 in what was Woodley's last appearance inside the Octagon.

Woodley's upcoming opponent Kamaru Usman, meanwhile, is coming off a huge win over Rafael Dos Anjos in order to earn a shot at Woodley's title at the upcoming UFC 235 pay-per-view.

The heart of the matter

While speaking to MMA Junkie recently, former Interim UFC Welterweight Champion, Colby Covington made a bold prediction regarding the upcoming title fight between champion Tyron Woodley and Kamaru Usman.

'Chaos' claimed that at UFC 235, Usman will completely look out of his element against the current Welterweight Champion and further added that 'The Nigerian Nightmare' has no business in being inside the Octagon at UFC 235. (H/T: Bloody Elbow)

“Woodley’s going to smoke him. Usman’s a scrub. He shouldn’t even be in that position. He hasn’t even beat anybody in the top 10 coming off a win. His last two wins, his only ranked wins, are against guys coming off losses, and I already took their soul and left them bloody and beaten, and they had no will to fight anymore. He’s got a padded record. He shouldn’t even be in this position, but he talked his way up, he sucked off some people at the UFC to get in this position and played that little role. So, good for him.”

What's next?

UFC 235 takes place on March 3, 2018, and so far several interesting and exciting fights have been confirmed for the show, including the debut of new UFC signee Ben Askren.
