UFC News: Colby Covington takes a shot at Mike Perry and his girlfriend
Has Colby Covington crossed the line this time?
What’s the story?
One of UFC’s most controversial fighters Colby Covington has seemingly taken a shot at fellow UFC fighter Mike Perry and his “horse-faced” girlfriend Danielle Nickerson, following Perry’s recent loss to Max Griffin at UFC on Fox 28.
In case you didn’t know…
Colby Covington made his UFC debut at UFC Fight Night 48 on the 23rd of August, 2014, when he successfully defeated Anying Wang via submission in the first round of their fight.
Since his debut four years ago, Covington has faced-off and defeated the likes of Wagner Silva, Mike Pyle, Jonathan Meunier and more inside the UFC Octagon and his professional MMA record stands at a total of 14 wins-to-1 losses.
The heart of the matter
With his girlfriend, Danielle Nickerson in his corner, ‘Platinum’ Mike Perry suffered a huge loss to Max ‘Pain’ Griffin in Florida, on this past Saturday when Perry was beaten up pretty badly in the first round of their fight despite trading back-and-forth shots with Griffin for three rounds.
However, following Perry’s loss, Covington used the social media in order to post a very controversial tweet as he labeled Perry’s girlfriend a ‘ratchet’ and ‘horse-faced’ and additionally, questioned Nickerson’s ability as a trainer.
Furthermore, Covington also evidently wrote vicious insults regarding Perry and called him a child of incest.
Colby Covington is currently on five fight winning streak in the UFC and has also been ranting on Twitter regarding a shot at Tyron Woodley and his Welterweight Championship. Covington has also previously accused Woodley of refusing to fight him, earlier on in the month.
In my opinion, trash talking is one of the most important parts in the world of Mixed Martial Arts. However, Colby Covington has definitely crossed the line this time and several other fighters such as Kevin Lee, Alex Nicholson, and Cub Swanson have also fired back at Covington’s latest tweet.
