UFC News: Junior dos Santos vs. Stefan Struve set for UFC FN 105

A massive Heavyweight match-up between Junior dos Santos and Stefan Struve will go down at UFC Fight Night 105

Two rejuvenated Heavyweights who are looking to continue their climb up to the UFC’s heavyweight title, Junior dos Santos and Stefan Struve, will meet in the main event of UFC Fight Night 105 from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada this upcoming February.

Dos Santos comes off of a unanimous decision win over Ben Rothwell at UFC Fight Night 86 this past April, after suffering a knockout loss to former title challenger Alistair Overeem just four months prior.

The former UFC Heavyweight Champion holds impressive wins over fighters like Cain Velasquez, Mark Hunt, and current division king Stipe Miocic. If he is able to reach the title shot with an impressive performance against Struve, he likes his chances against current Champion Miocic once again.

Struve is also coming off of an impressive performance, in which he dismantled legendary Brazilian Antonio ‘Bigfoot’ Silva with a 16-second knockout, followed by a second round submission win over Daniel Omielaczuk this past October with a D’Arce choke.

The submission victory would mark the second straight win for the Dutchman, who would be planning to utilise his size and athleticism to reign at the top of the heavyweight’s division.

Dos Santos is one of the most feared strikers in the history of the UFC’s Heavyweight division, not only because of his flawless technique but also the incredible power he holds in his hands. Struve’s size and athleticism may prove too difficult for ‘JDS’ to handle, but he certainly has the power to end it all in the blink of an eye.

Struve and ‘JDS’ will meet in the main event of UFC Fight Night 105 on FS1, from the Scotiabank Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada on February 19, 2017.
