UFC News: Max Holloway on his newly found persona, putting Jose Aldo on blast

Interim UFC featherweight title challenger Max Holloway opens up on being more vocal in the fight game, including sounding off on Jose Aldo earlier this month.

These past few months have been rather interesting for No. 3-ranked featherweight Max Hollowy, who will challenge former 155-pound champion Anthony ‘Showtime’ Pettis in the main event of UFC 206 for the interim featherweight championship. ‘Blessed has been a lot more vocal in his mixed martial arts (MMA) career lately, especially by calling out undisputed 145 pound champ Jose Aldo.

Holloway has been challenging Aldo for weeks now, calling the Brazilian champ a victim of ‘pu**yitis’ for refusing to step into the Octagon without a rematch against Conor McGregor:

"It’s funny, this side has always been there for me," he said (courtesy of MMA Fighting). "It’s just blunt. Just being real and stating fact. My manager [Brian Butler] and stuff, he knew how I really was, and the way I talk, and some stuff I say, and he just laughs at me all the time. But yeah, this is the true Max Holloway. No success, no nothing, no belt, no person can change the way I act, the way I feel. And no success is going to get me to being an asshole. I don’t care."

Holloway is on an amazing nine fight winning streak and will finally get his shot at UFC gold, but he’ll have to top a very game ‘Showtime’ Pettis who is looking to make a statement and become only the fourth two division champion alongside Conor McGregor, Randy Couture, and BJ Penn.

The matchup will certainly be a tough one for each man but should prove to be an exciting one given the stylistic comparison between them.

Holloway and Pettis will meet in the main event of UFC 206 live on pay-per-view (PPV) for the interim featherweight title, from the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on Saturday (December 10, 2016).
