UFC News: Nick Diaz vs Michael Bisping in the works

Another title shot?

It is being reported that Nick Diaz has been offered a fight in the UFC against Michael Bisping. The fight will be his first after the 18-month suspension that he received in January 2015.

Michael Bisping has been on a path to success, with the entire English crowd backing him up with their support and cheers.

The UFC Middleweight Champion is coming off a huge victory over MMA Legend Dan Henderson, avenging his previous loss to the American. And now the question that pops in everyone’s mind is - ‘Who’s next for Bisping?’ It has been rumoured that Nick Diaz has been offered to fight The Count at UFC 206 in Toronto, Canada.

The only hindrance in the possibility of this fight taking place is the pending fine of $75,000 on Diaz that he needs to pay the Nevada State Athletic Commission for failing his drug test after testing positive for marijuana back in January 2015.

Dana White recently announced that the Stockton native is ready to set foot in the Octagon again as his suspension was over, as per Bjpenn.com

After testing positive for Marijuana after his fight with Anderson Silva, the NSAC had punished him with a 5-year suspension from the cage, and also fined him $165,000.

But he later appealed to the commission in January 2016, and the suspension was reduced to 18 months with a fine of $100,000. Finally, the suspension was officially lifted on August 1st, 2016.

But Diaz will remain under technical suspension due to pending fines. As a result of not having paid the fines, he was barred from the Octagon-side and was unable to be in his brother Nate Diaz’s corner during UFC 196 and UFC 202.

On the other hand, GSP was attempting to settle a deal with the UFC as he wanted to make a comeback at UFC 206 in his home country, Canada. But he failed to negotiate a deal.

Bisping had stated that he had verbally accepted the fight against the Canadian. But Dana White denied any such plans for UFC 206 and stated on Fox Sports that Daniel Cormier vs Anthony Johnson will be the main event.
