UFC News: UFC Lightweight champ Eddie Alvarez predicts a tap-out victory over McGregor

Owns the big boy’s belt

There is only one man who can try and stop Conor McGregor’s attempt at greatness, UFC Lightweight champion, Eddie Alvarez. The two warriors are to going to battle each other at UFC 205 in Madison Square Garden, with an intention to create history by trying to end each other’s dreams.

Alvarez is already confident about how he is going to finish The Notorious one. Alvarez spots holes in McGregor’s wrestling game and says he will take him down and force him to tap. Alvarez, on the other hand, is a very good all-rounder despite turning out to be the underdog in this fight.

"I think I'm going to land that big shot," he said, according to the reports of Mmafighting.com.

"I think this guy's worried about a lot of grappling and a lot of wrestling. I think where it's going to end up when his mind's on that I'm going to land that big shot and then I'm going to submit him."

Alvarez had won the title with an upset victory over former champion, Rafael Dos Anjos, with a devastating first round knockout. He is also a former Bellator lightweight champion having won the title on two different occasions, but only vacated the title when he signed a contract with the UFC.

"Hey, I'm blessed," he said during the media workout at New York Knicks basketball court at Madison Square Garden, as he prepares for his fight.

"Whether you've got a red, white and orange flag, it don't matter what you go. You're here and I appreciate you guys."

This Saturday night history will be made when McGregor and Alvarez collide at UFC 205 in MSG, in which will be the only second champion vs. champion bout in the UFC. The first champion vs. champion fight was at UFC 94 between Georges St-Pierre and BJ Pen. You can catch the action on Sony ESPN, Sony ESPN HD and Sony Six at 8:30 a.m (IST) on Sunday, November 13th.
