Sage Northcutt recently shared a video of him training with an All Elite Wrestling superstar.
Although professional wrestling is scripted, the training and skills required have had close ties to martial arts for decades. As a result, some wrestlers frequently train with MMA fighters to improve the legitimacy of their performances.
Malakai Black, an AEW trios champion with The House of Black, was recently seen working with ONE Championship superstar Sage Northcutt. ‘Super’ posted the video on Instagram with the caption:

After establishing a perfect 15-0 record in kickboxing, Northcutt transitioned to MMA, quickly becoming one of the biggest prospects worldwide. He started his career with a 10-3 record before making his ONE Championship debut in May 2019. Sage Northcutt looks to get back on track at ONE Fight Night 10 on Prime Video
Sage Northcutt’s loss to Cosmo Alexandre turned his entire fighting career upside down. Northcutt suffered multiple facial fractures against Alexandre, leading to surgery and a long recovery process. Four years later, he’s ready to return to the circle.
On May 6, Northcutt will make his highly-anticipated return at ONE Fight Night 10 on Prime Video. The former Karate world champion is taking on Ahmed Mujtaba, who holds a 4-2 promotional record, including back-to-back first-round finishes. ‘Wolverine’ hopes to skyrocket his name value by taking out the 27-year-old superstar.
ONE Fight Night 10 goes down inside the 1stBank Center in Broomfield, Colorado. The historic event is the first time ONE will be in North America. In the main event, Demetrious Johnson will look to defend the ONE flyweight world championship in a trilogy bout against Adriano Moraes. The event can be seen live and for free by North American Prime Video subscribers.
