UFC News: Former UFC Interim Champ Shane Carwin willing to fight MMA legend Fedor Emelianenko

Carwin wants the Russian ‘Beast Incarnate’.

Rizin FF is set in the far eastern Land of the Rising Sun. The upcoming top promotion has signed former UFC fighters Wanderlei Silva and Mirko ‘Cro Cop’ Filipovic, who will soon face each other, and now former UFC Interim Heavyweight Champion Shane Carwin could be added to that list.

The ‘Engineer’ is now all set to fight the biggest star of the promotion, none other than MMA Legend Fedor Emelianenko.

While asked by a fan on twitter, Carwin responded that he had already ‘accepted the fight’ two weeks ago but now it's up to the Russian to make the dream match a reality.

Shane Carwin gave up his job as an engineer at the age of 30 to pursue his MMA dream thus later signing with the UFC. He became the Interim UFC Heavyweight Champion when he defeated Frank Mir via a knockout, at UFC 111, but soon lost the title to the ‘Beast Incarnate’, Brock Lesnar.

He went into retirement after losing another match when he collided with Brazil’s own Junior Dos Santos.

Vladamir Putin’s fighting hero!

Rizin FF is now portraying the Russian MMA legend as their top star. He returned to MMA after three years hiatus from the ring to face the Indian kickboxer, Jaideep Singh at Rizin Fight Federation 2.

He overpowered Singh and defeated him via TKO. He later defeated former UFC fighter, Fabio Maldonado in a fight that turned out to be a controversial outcome despite ending in his favour, at EFN: 50.

The Japanese promotion Rizin FF is hosting a tournament that would include a super fight between Wanderlei Silva and Mirko Cro Cop. A match between the two big names of the heavyweight division Carwin and Emelianenko would mean a lot of money for the new upcoming MMA promotion.
