Pune will be back on international map as it gets ready to stage an international event that is scheduled for November 28

Shyam Kothari

This mega event, Pune Invitational Supercross international comes back to the city after a gap of 17 years when Kothari and his team had organized one such event at the BJ Medical College ground.

Kothari, the former national champion who is the organizing secretary of the event stated that over eight countries have so far confirmed their participation in this event. And we will have our Indian riders rubbing shoulders with them.

“It has been over 17 years (last 1997 at the BJ Medical College ground) Pune did get to see the thrills and frills of the foreigners on the machine and this time it will be held in Koregeoan Park, the happening place in the city,” said Kothari.

It was Kothari soon after calling it quits with the sport in the year 1997 (retiring) had organsied the international event, and is back with yet another after 17 long years.

“Yes, it is a tough job, but being in the field for over 30 years, I think with my support staff and friends we will make this event a great show of the man and the machine,” said Kothari who has the credit in meticulously organising motocross events, be it a small event or an International one.
