Sarath moves to Honda CBR 250, represents India in Asia Dream Cup

S. Sarath Kumar, who has had the opportunity to participate in various international championships over the last three years, now gets the golden opportunity to represent India in the Asia Dream Cup supported by Honda Motorcycle and Scooters India and SK-Sarath69 Sports Pvt. Ltd.

Sarath will join the series mid season from the Japanese round in Suzuka on 29 August 2013. Sarath goes into this series with great confidence especially after his training in Spain and his short stint on the Moto3 Suter Honda in the Spanish Championship earlier this year. Sarath at a very young age of 21 has vast experience in motorcycle racing having started his racing career at the age of 16. He is one among the few who has many laps and experience riding 125CC and Moto3s on fast international racing circuits and competitions. He has also has good experience riding and winning on the Honda CBR 250 in the Honda Cup in India.

Sarath had missed participating in this championship for two years in a row due to his commitment to the World Championship, Italian Championship in 2012 and Spanish Championship in 2013. However Honda Motorcycle & Scooters India have come forward to nurture and support this young talent by getting him special permission from the organisers and HRC to join the series mid season. This series will give him further exposure and training to get back in to the Moto3 World Championships.

Asia Dream Cup (ADC) as a platform is evolved by Two Wheels Motor Racing Sdn Bhd in collaboration with Honda, to support young motorcycle racing talents in Asia and give them a platform to upgrade to Moto3 or 600CC motorcycle racing. The riders in this class will be riding a Honda CBR 250 production motorcycle which has been specifically prepared to race in this series. Each country from across Asia will have 2 riders in their team with the exception of India. Sarath will be joining his compatriots Summit Lucas and A. Prabhu from India.

Sarath will be joined by well know technician from Malaysia, Sivanesan Kanapathy and will be supported by SK-Sarath69 Sports Pvt Ltd an initiative Mr. R. Sarath Kumar & Ramji Govindarajan.
