So what exactly are the Giti Tire Angels? Well, if you aren’t a huge fan of motorsports, you likely don’t know what this new team is all about; but if you’re a race car driving aficionado that never misses a beat when it comes to racers, then this will be something that has intrigued you and sparked your interest royally.
We will start out by telling you this, The Giti Tire Angels is a race car team that is built entirely of females. That’s right, the race car drivers are female, the pit crew is female, even the manager and chief are female! This means that the team is entirely composed of only women- there’s not a man to be found on this exclusive and game-changing team. Why this is so important, you may ask? Well, because this is the first all female race car crew (from the top to the bottom) in history racing on Nurburgring.
Who are all the members in Giti Tire Angels?
The three race car drivers that graced Nurburgring on March 23 - 24 included Carrie Schreiner, Jasmin Preisig, and Ronja Assmann.
Alongside an amazing performance by these 3 women, we also got to meet the chief and manager of the Giti Tire Angels. Nicole Willems, the Angel’s manager, and Ellen Lehman, the Angel’s chief, had plenty to say following the race. Essentially they are overcome with pride and joy for their drivers, and understand they were probably very nervous before their first race. However, with a new found confidence after the first competition, Ellen and Nicole are seeing a way towards the first place spot in races to come.
What kind of race car do they drive?
The women drivers raced in a 260kW Volkswagen Golf TCR, and showed that they knew their car very well. Being in a different altitude that caused disagreeable weather conditions made for quite a road block; but these women race car drivers knew exactly how to drive their vehicle to withstand the elements and come out on top, at least for the majority of the race. With their ability to drive the Volkswagen, not even the most terrifying or aggravating weather conditions could have brought them down. This showed that the women were not only excellent drivers, but that they took the time to know the ins and outs of their race car to get the job done no matter what.
How many races have they been in?
If you didn’t get the jist already, the Giti Tire Angels are a brand new team. There first race took place March 23 - 24 on the Nurburg, Germany historical race track, competing in the SP3T Class for the 2019 VLN Endurance R1 Championship. While this was their first ever race, the Giti Tire Angels are planning to compete in several more races in the future including to continue onto the R2-R9 races of the 2019 LVN Endurance Championship. They are also preparing to be a part of the race taking place in June, the 24 Hour Nurburgring Event. We hope to see them in many more races in the future, as they are likely to grow in numbers with fans and with wins.

The Giti Tire Angels are most known for being the first all female racing team on Nurburg, Germany race track. Their team has sparked plenty of excitement as well as controversy, but as they took their place in the race finishing in second, it was clear the GitiAngels were a womanly force to be reckoned with.
Not only did this incredible, game-changing race car team came in second place on their very first try at a professional competition, but they were also able to snag the fastest lap out of all the other race car drivers, finishing a lap in only 9 minutes and 21.725 seconds.
Their ability to be quick, agile, and have plenty of skill sets enabled them to be one of the most prominent race car teams in the competition. They held a first place position until the very end of the race, where they barely got passed to end in second. With such an astounding turn out in the first race, they are likely to show even more improvement in the future to snag the first place in future competitions.
