Michael Jordan cherished a breakthrough moment this past season when his #45 Toyota driver Tyler Reddick reigned supreme at the Talladega Superspeedway. However, the NBA legend's excitement was such that he carried Reddick's son Beau over and above his almost 2m height, attracting the driver's "wild" reaction.

The race winner, a 1.65m man, wasn't even aware of his billionaire boss' presence at the Superspeedway. However, Reddick realized that after the race ended. He saw Jordan lifting his kid "higher than he's ever been in his whole life."

The moment instigated Reddick to express his emotions about his boss' post-race conduct. While watching the final lap on a tablet, Reddick spoke about Jordan lifting his boy:

"I didn't even know Michael was there until the race had ended. He's carrying my kid higher than he's ever been in his whole life, that was pretty cool too. Kid just getting carried around by MJ, pretty wild," Reddick said.

The GEICO 500 marked Michael Jordan's first win in the 2024 season and two more followed at the Michigan International Speedway and Homestead-Miami Speedway.

"This is like an NBA playoff game": Michael Jordan makes his feelings known after Tyler Reddick's triumph

Acing the 188-lapper wasn't on the cards for Tyler Reddick. He kicked off the race from 18th and was running among the top-5s on the penultimate lap. With Michael McDowell leading the race and Brad Keselowski trying to outperform the former Front Row Motorsports driver, a massive collision ensued.

McDowell repeatedly blocked Keselowski from making the pass. However, the move backfired, spinning his #34 Ford out of contention. Though it gave Keselowski the lead, checking up on his #6 Ford proved costly, as Reddick swooped past the 2012 Cup Series champion in the nick of time.

That said, Michael Jordan's top driver gunned towards the checkered flag, dethroning the RFK Racing rival by a mere 0.208 seconds, and securing a spot in the playoffs.

Jordan savored the moment and expressed his feelings, via NASCAR:

“As you know this is NBA playoffs right now and to me, this is like an NBA playoff game. I am so ecstatic for the fans who support the sport itself. You know we’ve been working hard trying to get ourselves to compete against all the top guys in this sport. And we’ve done a heck of a job just to be where we are and for us to win and win a big race like this, it means so much to me and the effort the team has put in."

Following his maiden 2024 triumph, Michael Jordan took a cheeky dig at his partner Denny Hamlin. The NBA legend iterated that Hamlin cited him as bad luck, but he proved that wrong.
