Michael Jordan is the greatest basketball player of all time. He led the Chicago Bulls to Six NBA championships in his playing career span of fifteen seasons in the league. He still holds records for career regular season scoring average (30.12 points per game) and career playoff scoring average (33.45 points per game). He was the trailblazer that led the NBA to a global stage. He was one of the very few athletes to have a banner of himself on the greatest sporting stage 1992 Barcelona Olympics. He sold out games wherever he went. In 2021, a ticket stub from his rookie game sold at auction for $264,000, setting a record for a collectible ticket stub. The way he conducted himself earned him nicknames like.” His Airness”, “Air Jordan'', “The Black Cat” and “Black Jesus.”


Early Life


Michael Jordan, the greatest basketball player of all time was initially cut from his high school team. Goes on to become a six-time champion. He was born in Brooklyn, New York and his family moved to Wilmington, North Carolina. His parents James R Jordan Sr and Deloris were strict disciplinarians installed and a good sense of discipline made him work hard. After he was cut from his team for being too short he grew 4 inches and joined the varsity team and scored a couple of 40-point games and after high school, he was invited to the McDonald’s All-American game where he scored 30 points. Michael was highly recruited out of school he chose the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to play under legendary coach Dean Smith who rana team oriented ship, he was freshman of the year and he hit the game-winning shot over Georgetown and they won the NCAA Championship. he has a degree of political science from UNC Chapel Hill.


NBA Journey



Michael was drafted 3rd by the Chicago Bulls in the 1984 NBA draft from 1984 to 1993. He took a break from basketball and played baseball for a while and returned in 1995 to 1998 and then he retired for the first time and then came back to play for the Washington Wizards from 2001-2003 and finally retired in 2003. Michael has had the most decorated career, and has never lost in a finals game in his life. He won rookie of the year in 1984 and took the basketball world by storm and sold out the Chicago Stadium for the first time. Chicagoans loved Michael, he played hard, and he played to win at all costs. He scored 16 points in his debut, he quickly became a fan favorite at opposing arenas in the following games, and he was voted to be an All-Star in his rookie year.


He had to wait a while for his first Championship, it came only in 1991, he was beaten and bruised and the pistons had Jordan Rules just for him, he overcame this roadblock on his way to his first championship where he beat Magic and the Lakers. He had already won his second MVP award by this time and also his first Finals MVP award. The bulls would go on to win the 1992 and 1993 finals marking the first three-peat. The second three-peat took place after his year-long absence from basketball, he was playing minor-league baseball. He came back to basketball during the 1995 season when the Bulls would make history during this time, they were the first team to have 72 wins in a season. He is also a two-time Olympic gold medal winner. He was also defensive player of the year twice apart from being a regular at the All-Star Game.
