The 2024 GEICO 500 is set to begin at Talladega Superspeedway on Sunday, and Brad Keselowski is seeing it as an opportunity to win a 500-mile race. He is optimistic about ending his three-year winless streak at Talladega, emphasizing the speed and past records he has at this track.

RFK Racing co-owner and driver believes that Ford always has speed on superspeedways, and it would be a great opportunity for his #6 team as well to win at Talladega. He holds the record for winning the most number of times at Dega among active NASCAR Cup Series drivers with six wins.

Speaking to FOX Sports' Bob Pockrass about the opportunity to win at Talladega, Keselowski said:

“It's definitely a better opportunity for us. You know, we have more speed as a manufacturer at these types of tracks. You don't need to capitalize on that. I think it's a great opportunity for not just Ford to win but for our team to win at RFK. And we need to come out here with great finishes.”

Brad Keselowski will probably be filled with confidence after a solid performance at Texas last week, scoring the season's best second-place finish.

“It's kind of a shame” : Brad Keselowski on his previous two superspeedway races

The 2012 NASCAR champion, who last won a Cup race at Talladega in 2021, further reflected on the Daytona and Atlanta races, where he felt that despite having strong cars, he couldn't capitalize on speed due to various circumstances, which resulted in a setback in the points table.

Pointing out the moments when he and his team had winning-capable cars to secure victories and crucial points in 2024, Keselowski said:

“You know, Daytona and Atlanta, I thought both of those tracks, RFK had great speed, Ford had great speed, and just the circumstances of the races, we didn't really lead. We obviously didn't lead with a win, but didn't lead with a lot of points scored. Kind of dug a hole in our standings.”
“And it's kind of a shame because the opposite of that is I feel like the last few weeks especially when we've earned finishes we probably didn't deserve. And so it's kind of ebbs and flows of how a season goes. But when you have cars that are capable of winning in general, you need to make that count.”

Brad Keselowski qualified 22nd during Saturday’s qualifying race at Talladega for the main event, the GEICO 500.
