On the latest episode of his ‘Kevin Harvick’s Happy Hour’ podcast, the former NASCAR Cup Series champion turned commentator Harvick and his co-hosts, Kaitlyn Vincie and Mamba Smith, dropped their winner’s prediction for this week’s Mexico City Cup race.

Kevin Harvick picked Shane van Gisbergen to win at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez. He is often referred to as a road course ringer because of his proven track record of success on road courses, including winning NASCAR’s inaugural Chicago Street Course race in 2023.

Harvick’s co-host, Vincie, named AJ Allmendinger to claim his first win of the season.

“I'm going to go with AJ Allmendinger. I feel like that could be an issue,” Vincie said.

Meanwhile, co-host Mamba Smith picked Mexico native Daniel Suarez to clinch his first win of the season this weekend. Smith said:

“I'm going with a hometown boy. Just give me Daniel Suarez because why not home cooking?

How has Kevin Harvick’s top pick performed in the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season

Kevin Harvick’s pick, Shane van Gisbergen, has been struggling in his debut full-time NASCAR Cup Series season with Trackhouse Racing.

After 15 races in the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season, the #88 Trackhouse Chevy driver has just managed to score one top-10 finish and led only 25 laps with an average finish of 25.2. He’s 33rd in the Cup Series points table with 192 points.

Before entering the NASCAR Cup Series scene, SVG primarily raced in the Supercars Championship, a series where he won three championships. His proven strong road course racing skills ranked him high in the odds table to claim his first win of the season.

It will be interesting to see how Harvick's and his co-hosts' predictions fare at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez. Watch the 2025 Viva México 250 on Prime Video at 3 p.m. ET. The radio coverage of the weekend event will be available on MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
