Kyle Busch's day in Mexico City ended early after a crash put him out of contention. The driver of the #8 hyrdoplaned in the early laps of the race and collided with Kyle Larson and others, which resulted in a last-place finish for the Richard Childress Racing star.

The early-race incident sparked several comments from fans after NASCAR posted a snippet of the same on X. Some even went so far as to question whether or not the two-time Cup Series champion still has it.

One fan was of the opinion that Busch's best days are behind him, as they wrote:

"kyle busch is washed 🫠"

More fans piled on in saying that something needs to change for Busch to be successful.

"Kyle Busch need to retire or switch teams. It’s been a train wreck since joining RCR," wrote one user.
"Kyle is done Not just rcr being bad," commented another.

Some fans expressed frustration at the crash due to the heavy rain that was coming down at the time. Throughout the race, there was off and on rain that forced drivers to put on wet weather tires.

"Shouldn’t have started the race…bad call," wrote one user.
"Should have never been out there in the rain," opined another user.

Others blamed Busch himself for being unable to control his car in the wet conditions.

"That’s what happens when you race slicks. Never understood why y’all just don’t use rain tires and be done with it," commented the user.

Kyle Busch entered Sunday's race in Mexico City tied with Ryan Preece for the final spot above the playoff cut line. Now, Busch finds himself 20th in the playoff picture after the last-place finish. With 10 races left in the regular season, Busch is 50 points below the cutoff.

Kyle Busch shared heartwarming social media post for Father's Day before the Mexico Cup race

Sunday was not only the NASCAR Cup Series race in Mexico City, but it was also Father's Day. The 63-time Cup Series winner took to social media with a heartfelt message for his dad.

Busch took to X and Instagram with a photo of himself, his older brother, Kurt Busch, and their father, Tom, from their early days of racing. The Las Vegas native also added a photo of his son, Brexton, celebrating in victory lane with his grandfather. Busch's caption read:

"Happy Father’s Day to the man who started it all! Three winning generations! Wouldn’t b where we are today without you! Love ya 🏆"

Kyle Busch is in his 21st full-time season of NASCAR Cup Series racing. It's his third season behind the wheel of the #8 RCR Chevrolet. In three seasons, Busch has won three races with RCR, all of which came in his first year with the team in 2023.
