The 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season came to an end with the conclusion of the Championship Race at Phoenix Raceway on Sunday, November 10. NASCAR veteran Joey Logano captured his third Cup Championship after winning the Championship Race at Phoenix.
In a high-octane Phoenix Championship race, Logano took the lead from William Byron with 54 laps to go and then held off the charge of Ryan Blaney to cross the finish line in P1.
After winning the championship, Joey Logano gained 40 points and will finish the season in top position in the NASCAR Cup Series points table with 5040 points, 4 wins, and seven top-five finishes.
Ryan Blaney, the defending Cup champion, gained 35 points and ended the season in second place in the NASCAR Cup Series points table with 5035 points, three wins, and 12 top-five finishes.
Martin Truex Jr., who started from the front row, failed to use the advantage and finished 17th in his last race as a full-time Cup driver. He ended his last season in 10th position in the points table with 2257 points.
Kyle Larson, who won a series-high six races this season, finished the season in sixth place in the standings with 2378 points and 14 top-five finishes.
William Byron, who was the only HMS driver in the Phoenix Championship Race, fell three spots short of winning his maiden title. With a P3 finish, he gained 34 points and ended this season in third in the championship standings with 5034 points.
