NASCAR driver and team owner Dale Earnhardt Jr. recently showered JR Motorsports driver Justin Allgaier with praise. The latter crossed a major career milestone earlier this month after winning the Xfinity Series race in Darlington.

Allgaier’s dominant win at Darlington Raceway on Saturday was special. Securing his first victory of the season, he crossed the finish line 3.407 seconds ahead of runner-up Austin Hill. This win marked his third triumph at the iconic Lady in Black and the 24th of his career.

Moreover, it elevated him to tie with Dale Earnhardt Jr. for 10th on the all-time Xfinity Series wins list. At 37, Allgaier also set a new record for the most top-10 finishes in the series, amassing 267 and surpassing Kyle Busch in this statistical category.

Following the race, Hall of Famer and JR Motorsports owner Dale Earnhardt Jr. took to his Dale Jr Download podcast to pay tribute to the 37-year-old veteran driver. Earnhardt Jr. expressed admiration for Allgaier, highlighting his contributions to the team and his impressive career stats. He said:

"I want to give a shout out to Justin Allgaier. 24 career wins and taking over the lead in the most top-10s in the series history, that's a really cool stat."

Dale Jr emphasized Allgaier's presence in the team. He also praised the NASCAR veteran's professionalism and dedication, saying:

"Justin has been such a great asset to JR Motorsports. We ebb and flow in terms of getting our cars to perform. I'll say that there's one thing that has always been a constant and that's been his attitude."
"His professional attitude, his effort on the racetrack, he is so dependable. He has been a great mentor for a lot of the drivers that come through here. I hope that we can win a lot more races with Justin. My goal really is to try and get that guy his championship."

Justin Allgaier expresses gratitude towards Dale Earnhardt Jr. after Darlington win

Following his win, Justin Allgaier expressed heartfelt gratitude towards Dale Earnhardt Jr. Reflecting on his victory and the significance of tying with Earnhardt Jr. on the all-time wins list, Allgaier was visibly moved.

He said (via SiriusXM NASCAR Radio):

"I'm soaking it all in. To tie Dale Jr. , the guy that obviously is my boss but at the same time somebody that I have a lot of respect for and I look up to not only as a race car driver but as a person it's pretty special to have my name on the list and tie him."

Allgaier also acknowledged the special nature of winning at Darlington, a track he holds in high regard. He added:

"The ones that I've won here have been really high on my list of races to win and very important to me. So, to do it again it's incredible. All the things about this race weekend are truly special."

Justin Allgaier is ranked fifth in the NASCAR Xfinity Series standings after 11 races. He has one win and three top-5 finishes to his name.
